“Your power is relative, but it is real. And if you do not learn to use it, it will be used, against you, and me, and our children. Change did not begin with you, and it will not end with you, but what you do with your life is an absolutely vital piece of that chain. The testimony of your daily living is the missing remnant in the fabric of our future.”

In my practice, I use:

  • A trauma-informed lens/approach

  • Narrative therapy

  • Collaborative therapy

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy

  • Somatic and mindfulness therapies

As a trauma-informed therapist, my approach to therapy honors your autonomy and safety. We’ll work together to establish a sense of security in the relationship and work collaboratively to determine the preferred ways to create change.

I work from narrative and collaborative therapies, as well as use EMDR to support clients in trauma processing. My training is systems theory. My therapeutic belief systems are rooted in feminism, restorative and non-disposability practices, harm reduction, and anti-punitive/anti-oppressive approaches. I aim to be gentle and gingerly when it most matters, while also noticing the moments where directness and deliberate action is needed.

My clients are interested in exploring possibilities for change in their worlds. Whether it’s refining their communication skills, developing distress tolerance, or reshaping their narrative-of-self, they are here to expose truths and understandings both old and new. This can happen through supportive reflection, EMDR processing, narrative exploration, body attunement/grounding, relational reenactments, and more.

At present, much of our depression/anxiety can be connected to what is going on outside of us: political and social violence, a high cost of living, threat to safety and human rights. Therapy will not solve these things, however, I believe that therapy is one of many tools we may use to improve our relationship to the world, to others, and to ourselves. Humans are relational. So much so that hyper individualism fails to support our emotional and social needs. I observe that when we have positive relational experiences, our sense of self and relationship to ourselves also improves. It can be hard to be relational in a time where so much hurt is abound. We’ll honor all parts of your experience.

I am licensed in the state of Wisconsin and see clients who are in and maintain residence in the state of Wisconsin. I meet clients virtually for individual sessions and relational sessions (two to three adults). Sessions are 50 minutes unless we have agreed otherwise.

I am not paneled with insurance. This supports the highest level of confidentiality for my clients and limits our need to diagnose what does not need to be pathologized. At your request, I can provide you with a “super bill” that you may give to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Contact your insurance provider prior to establishing services to see if they cover out of network providers.

  • Individual Sessions: $130 / 50 min

  • Relational Sessions: $160 / 50 min

Sliding scale slots are limited. Please let me know about your needs and we'll identify a plan. You can read about my approach to sliding scale here.

Services offered:

  • Individual Therapy; adults 18+.

  • Relational Therapy; Also known as ‘couples therapy’, but also: Significant relationships, romantic or platonic or familial, with two to three adults 18+.

  • Assessment and letter writing for gender affirming care; Completed collaboratively in 1 session. Follows WPATH Standards of Care. Sliding scale always available.

  • Eye Movement Desensitizing and Reprocessing (EMDR); read about EMDR here and here. I am newly trained in EMDR. If interested, we can talk about how virtual EMDR works and what to expect.

Please note that clients are responsible for full payment at the time of service. Sessions cancelled in less than 24 hours notice or no-shows are subject to a fee of the total cost of the session.
